From the Hermès Spring-Summer 2002 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: In the Gulf of San Blas, near the Atlantic coasts of Panama, where the ghosts of buccaneers still roam, there lies the coral archipelago of the Mulatas. There the Kuna Indians sew fabrics (molas) which marry dreams to myth. The latter tells the story of the Sun in its struggle against fish-tailed Evil. In the end, the star is triumphant, thanks to heavenly reinforce-ments: those of the hummingbird, the cockerel, the wasp and even the winged jaguar.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
