From The Hermès Fall-Winter 1989/90 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Just before World War I, poet Guillaume Apollinaire imagined the flowing Seine "weary of the everlasting gazes" of lovers on the Pont Mirabeau. In the 1950s, a stone soldier carved on the Pont de l'Alma served as a measure of the river's raging floods. In 1989, the bridges of Paris are still alive with art and excitement, as ever-new as the ancient Pont-Neut Silhouettes of history immortalized in silk.

Size Guide
- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
