From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2017/18 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: This composition centres on a 19th-century paint box found in the mile Hermès collection. From the Romantic era, it undoubtedly belonged to an amateur outdoor painter. The tasteful, clever design incorporates everything the artist will need for this communion with nature. Water-colour blocks, phials of pigments, sealing wax, brushes, charcoal sticks, goose quills, a palette knife and pocket knife, a scraper, a ruler, a mother-of-pearl and silver-gilt paper cutter, a white marble palette, a cut-glass pestle and miniature dishes - not forgetting the tubes of paint, an innovation that first appeared in 1841. The beauty of this piece in lemonwood lies as much in its appearance as in the intelligence of its design.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
