From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2013 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Who is the proud holder of this extraordinary collection of trophies? A sports-mad student... A young athlete applying the maxim of a healthy mind in a body to match... The image radiates good-natured humour, all sparkling cups and lively figures, gleaming medals and fluttering penants. A composition full of life itself. Here are the trophy from the Saut Hermes, a cyclist's medal, a racing car, a pair of skates, a golfer, a fencer... even a life-saving certificate. Dated 1895, the award belonged to Emile Hermes, who once saved three people from drowning by diving into the Seine.

True to the philosophy of the house of Hermes, the carré celebrates every possible sport. Equestrian activities have a special place, of course, but any discipline that trains the body and stimulates the mind finds favour, too. The practised gesture, the contained power of movement, are the stuff of hard work and natural talent. Harnessed to cleverly-designed clothing, equipment and accoutrements...

From The Hermès Spring-Summer 2013 Collection Website: Who could this incredible collection of trophies belong to? A young athlete who faithfully adheres to the famous Latin phrase "a healthy mind in a healthy body"... An easy-going sense of humor emanates from this evocation. The pieces shine, the characters seem to come to life, ribbons, medals and banners twirl around. You can find the Saut Hermès trophy, the medal of a racing cyclist, a Formula 1 car, skates, a golfer, a fencer... and even a lifeguard's certificate. It dates from 1895 and is none other than Émile Hermès who, diving into the Seine, saved three people from drowning. Faithful to the Hermes philosophy, this scarf features all kinds of sports.
