Why I Love This Pattern: This motif shows cut leather letters, listed simply as "fancy alphabet" in Hermès records from the early 1930s. Even then, Hermès offered personalized touches on bags, luggage, and clothing, continuing the tradition from its origins as a harness and saddle maker. Just as blankets and tack were once marked with a client's initials, personalization became part of the brand’s identity. We can see Hermès highlighted within the alphabet in blue beads. How chic would this be framed in a baby's room or play room?
Why I Love This Size
The 70cm format is actually my favorite out of all the sizes. I find it small enough where I’m not overwhelmed by fabric, but big enough when I can still do a few fancier knots. The 70cm also uses a lighter weight silk than any of the other sizes, which gives it a casual effortless look. I always recommend this size for petites as well, it’s almost a petite version of a 90cm. But even if you’re taller it works perfectly too.
