Why I Love This Pattern: This Nouvelle Calédonie motif is a special edition of Jardin Creole. This special edition was designed to commemorate the Nouméa agreement, which is a promise by the French Republic to grant increased political power to New Caledonia.
From The Hermès Spring-Summer 1994 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: In this garden, the roar of a lawn-mower will never be heard: just a simple murmur, a gust of rum and happiness, the echo of primitive Eden. Beneath the hat, the bird and the grasshopper (woven of coconut palm fronds), we find the calabash that quenches our thirst, the green nut that is so delicious, and the fruit - inedible - of the bakuoua, whose leaves are also hat material. The frame of sugarcane serves here to mark the boundaries of paradise.

- Twilly: small but mighty, use it like a typical scarf, as a bag handle, as a belt, and more.
- 45cm: this is the typical pocket square size, will fit around the neck like a bandana.
- 55cm: this is the bandana size typically printed in 3 colors to look like a traditional bandana.
- 70cm: this is a great option for petites and they are typically made out of a lighter weight silk than any of the other formats.
- 90cm: this is the classic Hermès scarf size. It's very versatile and if you're looking at any vintage photos, this is the scarf size that's worn.
- 140cm: the largest size of the bunch, almost reaching 5 ft. It's hard to capture the scale in photos but these are incredible as a lightweight shawl in the summer, or folded for a warmer feel in the winter.
- Shawls & Other Sizes: there are a few styles that Hermès does not make every season which are just as lovely and fit into this category.
