Why I Love This Pattern: Wow, wow, wow. Sometimes you don’t have to know anything about Hermes scarves to know that one is special (even grail status) - the artistry speaks for itself. Aline Honore's design, showcasing 14 intricately ornamented elements of samurai armor, beautifully connects art and tradition. At the center is a stunning suit of armor crafted from bronze, iron, gold, silk, and lacquer, an extraordinary creation of the Myochin school, reserved for a daïmio during the Edo period. And what is incredible, even beyond that, is these are real pieces that are preserved at the Ann & Gabriel Barbier‑Mueller Museum in Dallas Texas. This private collection of samurai armor has been curated by the art‑collecting family, the Barbier-Muellers and it consists of nearly a thousand pieces making it one of the largest of its kind in the world.
