From The Hermès Spring-Summer 1995 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Situated in the heart of China, this land of tormented rock formations harbours the richest fauna on the planet, thanks to its variable climate. Here the mouflon and snow-leopard roam the high escarpments, leaving the forests of bamboo to the panda. The squirrel shares its home among the trees with the blue magpie, whilst the majestic lophophorus shelters her egret from the wildcat's lightning attack.

From The Hermès Fall-Winter 2010/11 Seasonal Scarf Booklet: Although its young shoots and tender leaves are the juiciest, the bamboo is never niggardly with its riches towards the panda, who throughout the year devotes his days to chewing its branches, gathered with the help of its six fingers. According to the Chinese axiom, "everything which grows in China grows in Sichuan". Between the high mountain ranges wreathed in mist and its deep valleys crossed by many waters, this fertile region shelters numerous species. The azure-winged magpie lives beside the squirrel, the multi-coloured bird watches the wild cat, monkeys bustle about in the foliage, whilst wild sheep grow up undisturbed, because, for the snow leopard, the time has come to nurse its young.
